Quran Stories For Kids

Written by Abdur Rauf Dakkak
Illustrated by Guzel Garipova.
Published by UMMAH publishing house
Moscow/ 2020

The series for the ‘Quran Stories For Kids’ book mostly describe the life of Prophets of Islamic Tradition. This book challenged me to tell the stories using completely different methods rather than we usually meet in picture books for kids.

The main idea was to tell the story of prophets without the main characters on the scenes. Because the rules of islamic images condemn using complete features, i.e nose or eyes are usually left out. So I concentrated on creating some space for the characters, where readers can imagine them and their stories. I hope that this illustrated book will help to inspire kids for discovering the Islamic culture.
